Mountain Hardtail Performance

In 2002, the 29er was first introduced by Gary Fisher. There are many advantages of having a larger wheel on a mountain bike. One is that bigger wheels decrease the angle of attack therefore your bike will roll over things easier. It basically makes logs and rocks seem smaller and you roll over them easier. Also with the 29er, you have a longer contact patch giving you better traction and will allow you to float easier over soft ground. Another advantage is that you get more momentum. Once you reach your cruising speed, you stay at that speed easier than with a smaller wheel.
